Being a parent isn’t the easiest job in the world, and it certainly gets even more difficult at meal times. What can you nutrition wise give your kids that they will eat? These days it’s come to being an almost impossible decision what with all the advertisements for fast foods that kids are bombarded with on an almost minute by minute basis. How can you compete with a greasy burger and fries accompanied by the latest must have toy included free?Fruits, green leafy vegetables, whole grain breads, cereals, and mushrooms improve sleep. Also spices such as dill, sage and basil help with sleep problems. Vitamins and supplements aid sleep. Calcium and magnesium helps induce sleep. Calcium-rich foods include milk, cheese, yogurt, ice cream, sardines, salmon, broccoli, tofu, egg, and calcium-fortified food. Magnesium is found in nuts, almonds, cashews, beans, and spinach. Vitamins B6 and B12 are often beneficial and used in the treatment of insomnia. Certain foods that contain Vitamin B6 are liver, meat, brown rice, fish, butter, wheat germ, whole grain cereals, and soybeans. Foods rich in Vitamin B12 include some plant milks, some soy products and some breakfast cereals.
Our bodies need fat, especially certain types of it. Modest amounts of health-promoting fats and limiting the less healthy fats should be the ideal way of balancing your diet. Eating too much of the wrong kind of fat can spell trouble for your arteries. Solid fats, which include animal fats, stick margarine, and shortening, are not essential in your diet because they are high in saturated fat. Foods like Crisco and other shortening. Crisco is a popular brand of shortening and was the first shortening to be made entirely of vegetable oil. Shortening is a semisolid fat used in food preparation. People tend to use this kind of fat because it has a long shelf life. We tend to use them in place of lard and actually think it is better for us. The same reasoning goes for deep fried foods. “Modest amounts” needs to be the controlling measure for everything you eat.Unhealthy foods affect peoples bodies. Refined flour and store bought flour - Good whole wheat is what is best for you. White rice - Brown rice is better for you. Sugar - Consume as little as you possibly have to. (Fructose is a building block for cholesterol.) Canned soups - Almost always loaded with salt. If you want to buy these, rather go for the low in salt. Processed meats - Tend to be high in fat and high in salt. Hydrogenated palm oils - Should rather be given a miss. Quenchable and other items like them are high with salt and fat.
